Create your Programs

The music that is being played is taken from your iTunes library. Background Music reads the iTunes library XML file and allows you to define music selections called 'programs' based selected genres, artists, albums and iTunes playlists.

On the first launch Background Music creates a program for each genre found in your iTunes library that has at least 30 tracks. These programs select tracks from the respective genre.

Click on a program name in the list on the left hand column to modify its selection criteria. Checking of the mark for a specific genre, artist, album or playllist includes its tracks into the selection of this program.

To create a new program click the '+' button next to the 'Program' title in the left column.

The 'find' box in the top right corner limits the list to the matching set of genres, artists, albums or playllists.
